Happy couple Lorraine and Tony Erhart share a laugh after Tony had been successful in winning Race 6 at Ipswich last Friday on Borehole which is trained by Tony's wife Lorraine. The photo is just more proof that winners can laugh - and losers can please themselves. Let's catch up with Tony aboard the winner.
Veteran jockey Tony Erhart proves "you're never too old, you're just too lazy" as he steers Borehole to the line first in Race 6 at Ipswich last Friday. Borehole's starting price was $10 and he scored by 1.5 lengths with Desert Vision ridden by Ryan Wiggins in second place and Gypsy Heart ridden by Glen Colless clocking in third.
Tony Erhart and his trainer wife Lorraine were then photographed by the Justracing camera at the presentation ceremony after Borehole's win at Ipswich last Friday. Justracing can exclusively reveal that the trophy has now been melted down and cashed in. That fancy stuff to pretty it up is actually pure gold - at $1600 an ounce. The trophy was worth more than the race.

Young apprentice Aidan Holt took out Race 1 on the programme at Ipswich last Friday aboard the Liam Birchley trained Shamrock Slipper. Shamrock Slipper scored by two lengths from Mountain Promise with Perfect Glory a further 3.75 lengths away in third place.
Leading Toowoomba jockey Skye Bogenhuber won Race 7 at Ipswich last Friday aboard the Tony Gollan trained Caribbea. I'm pretty sure that Skye will win the Toowoomba senior jockeys premiership - in another first for female jockeys.
Former New Zealand apprentice Ruby Ride scored a win in the last race at Ipswich last Friday aboard the Sel Andrews, Gatton trained galloper Cross The Star which won narrowly from the Barry Baldwin trained Mystic Mahal for apprentice Tegan Harrison. Glen Colless on Valera ran third. As you can see by the brand on the winner he was born in the Northern Territory but somehow fled to Queensland early in life. Sadly his owners obviously haven't changed the rego over yet.
Out at Eagle Farm last Saturday and the Justracing camera captured Race 1 winning jockey Chris Munce with one of the part-owners of the winner Bell Academy. The winner started at 10/1 for up and coming trainer Bradley Herne who incidentally had a most fruitful Grafton Carnival prior to this win. Wonder is that broach pure gold at $1600 an ounce? Be careful lady if it is.

Apprentice Kirk Matheson returns to scale on Race 2 winner The Sixties at Eagle Farm last Saturday. The Sixties, trained by Tracy Green, started the well backed $3.40 favourite and scored by half a length over The Ringmaster, ridden by Phillip Wolfgram, for Toowoomba trainer Tony Sears, with a further half-a-length to the Rob Heathcote trained Hidden Kisses ridden by Ryan Wiggins in third place. The Sixties is part owned by affable Ipswich couple Rob and Jackie Sellars who are long standing friends of Justracing and his besotted bride and they have been successful business people in Ipswich for decades. In fact many moons ago Rob and Justracing used to work together promoting the couple's very popular "Fite-Night's" at the Ipswich Greyhound Club when boxers would come from all around the country to fight at the Ipswich Showgrounds. The Sixties has now won $302,150 in prizemoney in his 43 start career, so Tracy has done a good job with the Grandera gelding who has now won or been placed at 23 of his 43 starts.
Successful trainer of Race 2 winner at Eagle Farm last Saturday Tracy Green consoles one of the part-owners (in the red top) after the all the way win of the gelding. The Sixties seemed quite concerned so strapper Brad Richardson brought him over for a closer look.
Website regular Diane Scriven was having her first day back on the job after a stint in New Zealand and was happy to share a smile with Race 4 winner Goldslick at Eagle Farm last Saturday. Goldslick ran at $6 after opening at $5. Liam Birchley, ironically a visitor every time to those Ipswich Fite-Night's of Rob and Jackie Sellars all those years ago, trained the winner, which was ridden by apprentice Kirk Matheson.
Apprentice Maija Vance was pictured winning Race 5 at Eagle Farm last Saturday aboard the David Murphy trained Revitalise. Revitalise was the first of a winning double for Maija on the day. David predicts a nice future for the Lloyd Williams cast-off.

New South Wales based jockey Glenn Lynch was more than happy to acknowledge the Justracing camera as he returned to scale on Friday night exclusive website tip Scarbank after the two had combined to win the Country Cup at Eagle Farm last Saturday. Well done Glenn - had Tony and Lorraine Erhart not had their big day out at Ipswich last Friday, you would have had the lead gig. Plenty of $13 each way fixed odds was bet about Scarbank's chances on Saturday morning after the scratchings, before he opened on course at just $6. Those smart enough to cop the tip are in the Greek Isles today being fed grapes by a number of glamours. Those who weren't smart enough to back the Craig Martin, Tamworth, trained galloper are already at work now.
Winning trainer of Scarbank Craig Martin was photographed with winning jockey Glenn Lynch after their win in the Country Cup at Eagle Farm last Saturday. Craig Martin is Sydney trainer Tim Martin's brother. Scarbank scored his ninth win of his career last Saturday. He's certainly been a wonderfully consistent horse, as he's now won or been placed at 24 of his 39 starts, for earnings of $132,850.
A happy apprentice Maija Vance returns to scale aboard the Steven O'Dea trained Cash 'N' Style who was the second leg of her winning double last Saturday at Eagle Farm. The pair combined to take out Race 7 on the programme and defeating two last start winners - Fire Up Fifi and Angusroy.
Patinack unfortunately took out Race 8 on the programme at Eagle Farm last Satuday - Tattersall's Mile - with Hour Of Peril. Patinack's rep Brett Killion was photographeed sharing a joke with winning jockey Jeff Lloyd. Justracing didn't think the result was very funny at all, as Saturday Morning Mail clients were exclusively advised to have a trifecta of Topping and Carry Me Bluey to win and run second with the field to run third - and both topweights, Belltone and Adnocon - were accurately potted in the report. This chaffbandit and oxygen thief Hour of Peril had to pick last Saturday to win his second race since 30/10/10 - that's nearly 21 months. Gotta love the punt when some scrubber gets in the way of a big result.

The Jason McLachlan trained Miss Barwang was in a fiesty mood prior to going to the barriers for the last race at Eagle Farm last Saturday and she was proving to be quite a handful for jockey Damian Browne and Clerk of the Course Sarah Manion as per this photo. Once Miss Barwang got to the barriers though she knew what was expected of her and she duly delivered in winning by 2.25 lengths over Shadow Buster with Rare Subject a further 6.25 lengths away in third place. She's another galloper that's harder to catch than the train that left one minute ago. Her form coming into the race was 6-6-3-9 yet she waltzed in.
As per his colours, last race winning jockey Damian Browne was the star of the show and he was pictured reporting back to the trainer of Miss Barwang, Jason McLachlan, and Jason's mother Lorraine - about the win. By the look on their faces - they were on the $6 chance.
With his only career win in eight starts before last Saturday being a debut Maiden win at the Sunshine Coast, Show A Noee was photographed on the outside winning Race 3 at Eagle Farm last Saturday ridden by Damian Browne for recently licensed trainer Caitlin Lavin.
Let's follow the precious moments of the trainer and strapper during the race as the Justracing camera is there to capture all the action.
Trainer Caitlin Lavin (on the right) and strapper Robyn Slater sense that their horse Show A Noee might be a winning chance and commence cheering.
The trainer and strapper are clearly delighted with the winning result and Caitlin applauds her horse's achievement.
Strapper Robyn Slater was all smiles as Show A Noee is unsaddled by winning jockey Damian Browne. Show A Noee is knackered however - and is dozing off.
Winning trainer of Show A Noee, Caitlin Lavin, gets a congratulatory kiss from her dad on the left and winning jockey Damian Browne on the right. Kissing trainers is a terrible job - but someone has got to do it.

"Never bet odds-on and never run up steps". Spot on advice all his life from the late Sydney racecaller Ken Howard. Here is the final Tattsbet odds when the field jumped in the Sunshine Sprint on Saturday night at Albion Park. Champion pacer Smoken Up finalized at $1.20 on the normal tote - and an even shorter $1.16 fixed odds. He got rolled, clocking in third to a 50/1 winner, even better on fixed odds - as per the result that is showing.
Go - they're racing - in Race 1 at Flemington last Saturday. The racecaller Greg Miles says the horse in barrier one called Escado has missed the start "about one- and-a-half lengths". In his defence, he has to make a split second decision, so that stuff up is fine, but the stewards report says the horse missed the start "one length". I just shake my head. Given the stewards have the benefit of watching a replay a dozen times they don't have to guess, yet they still can't get it right. Thank God we have "some of the best stewards in the world" around Australia. Can someone show me exactly where they are hiding? Not in Melbourne or Sydney judging by some of rot in the stewards reports.

No wonder websites are the preferred source of racing information these days and newspapers are putting off staff all over the world. These days newspapers are virtually useless to racing. This is last Sunday's The Sunday Mail, adly Queensland's Statewide newspaper - and they managed to put just two racing stories in it. Even last week in the Statewide daily, The Courier Mail, there were no local racing stories some days. In fact in today's The Courier Mail there is not even one racing story from any of the three codes in the sporting pages. That is what I would call - "an absolute and utter disgrace".
It's must be impossible for the young people of today - to accept that in a bygone era, you could walk out the front gate of Eagle Farm and Doomben after the last race and you could buy a dedicated racing paper that had been written about the earlier races run that day - and they'd be selling like hot cakes. How the world changes.
